Uffelte
Uffelte is an old village with about 1450 inhabitants. Despite the addition of new buildings, the village has kept its old village character. With its protected village look, the Dorpsstraat farms and its rural location it would easily fit in Wim Sonneveld’s song "The Village".
Nature
Within fifteen minutes walking from the B&B Zeldenrust, you will find the Holtinger sheep-fold. You will be able to see about 250 Drenthe heath sheep pass by every day.
The two National Parks: "The Dwingeldverveld" and "The Drents-Friese Wold" are really close by. Also in the “Uffelterzand" and "Holtingerveld", with its peat lakes, you will enjoy the walking and cycling routes (walking and cycling routes are available at the B&B).
Museums
With many historical villages, such as Diever, Dwingeloo, Frederiksoord and Vledder, our region is considered as an "open air" museum on its own. Also, the innumerable museums offer ample opportunities for a cultural outing.

For a city visit, you can enjoy a nice walk or just a nice shopping experience in nearby Meppel and Steenwijk (12 km).
The towns of Beilen (21 km), Hoogeveen (30 km) and Assen (43 km) are located within close proximity.
Golfing
Within three minutes of B&B Zeldenrust, golfers can enjoy the Golf club Havelte with its superb 18-hole course. The Golf Club does not operate on a tee-time system.
